Description: This vintage poster from the early 1900s features George M. Cohan's "Sporting Blood" at the Hollis Theater in Boston. The Theatre was torn down in 1935. Monday February 10 only fell on a Monday in 1908/1919/1930 so the play was in years 1919 or 1930 given the ages of the player's. They were all famous as they were all listed in Wikipedia. George M Cohan born 1878 Died 1942 World Famous!!! Lewis B. Ely Died 1935 had several Broadway plays including Thoroughbreds. The Horse Thief. Sporting Blood I believe was also about horse's. Maybe this play may have flopped in Boston was reworked to make his winning plays??? Walter Connolly born 1887 Died 1940. Made almost 50 Films!! Ruth Shepley Born 1892 Died 1951 famous stage star!! Miner Co Litho and Print New York also Famous!! All together it's been interesting research. My Best guess it was staged in 1919?? Measures 12" by 22" A stunning piece of theater memorabilia. It is a great addition to any collection, especially for fans of Cohan or classic theater. The poster is an original, not a reproduction, and is in fair to Good condition.
