He saw Serge Lifar and a very young Tamara Toumanova, among others, dance in that capacity . He conducted the first public performance of the ballet L'eventail de Jeanne based on music by a number of French composers , including an angry Darius Milhaud . Szyfer also provided some music for the 1923 film Kœnigsmark. After World War II, the conductor still had a bone to pick with composer Florent Schmitt , who in his opinion had been a little too much of Adolf Hitler 's ideas . Although there was insufficient evidence, Schmitt was nevertheless punished with a ban on his music for one year, starting October 1, 1945.NARCON, Armand, bass, * 10/13/1866 Paris, † 17.8.1944 Paris, he was educated at the Conservatoire National de Paris. In 1891 he began his career as a chorister at the Grand Opéra in Paris and was adopted in 1893 as a soloist in the ensemble of the house. For about 50 years he remained a member of the Grand Opéra, where he is still occurred in 1940. He debuted there in 1893 in a small role in the world premiere of the opera "Deidamie" by Henri Marechal. During the long years of his membership in this house he has sung virtually every Baßpartie in the repertoire of the house, from the smallest Comprimario role to Mephistopheles in "Faust" by Gounod. The premieres and first performances, in which he took part, can not even play close. These his appearance at the Grand Opéra in the world premieres of operas »scemo" by Alfred Bachelet on 06/05/1914, "Padmavati" by Roussel on 01/06/1923, "La Légende de Saint-Christophe," by d'Indy on 06/06/1920 and "Renard" by Stravinsky on 06.02.1922 and "Le Jardin de Paris" by A. Bruneau (29.10.1923) »Sept Chansons" by Gian Francesco Malipiero (07/10/1928), "Le Marchand de Venise" by Reynaldo Hahn (21/03/1935), "Roland et le mauvais garçon" by Henri Rabaud (28/05/1934) and "Oedipe" by Georges Enescu (03/10/1936). In 1929 he worked there with the premiere of the opera work "Les Troyens" by Berlioz. As one of his great creations of Hunding was in 'Valkyrie'. Until 1940 he worked at the Grand Opéra, where he was so popular that he has hardly made guest appearances. He was also excellent as a performer of solo parts in oratorios and sacred music works, for many years he has performed at concerts in the church Saint-Philippe-du-Roule, Paris. Since 1934 he was a professor at the Conservatoire National in Paris. Already before 1914 sang the deserved artist on odeon (ensemble scenes from operas, solo recordings of religious music) and later numerous acoustic and electrical recordings on HMV and Columbia, including solos.
