Description: 1973 Artisan Studio Pottery Stoneware Vase Brutalist Qualities Unique Signed This unique and interesting pottery vase is preowned and is in very good condition for the right person. This item is a vintage piece and we have owned it for about 25 years. We have looked at it thousands of times and decided that besides it's brutalist qualities - we named it "bears den" as we imagined a bear about to hibernate or waking up and this is what he would see, perhaps icicles, perhaps sticks and branches looking up from the floor of his den. We also imagined being in a cave with stalactites and stalagmites. It is a bit heavier, thus we believe it is stoneware ceramic pottery and the little speckles can be seen in the finish. The center is slightly textured, it feels a bit like the old sugar finished items, a little bit sandy is the best description, while the deep brown top and base and insides are so smooth and cool to the touch. This vase measures approximately 6 & 1/4" tall x 3 & 1/8" wide at the top opening. The base diameter is 2 & 5/8" across the center. It is a really nice piece of American pottery any collector would enjoy. We invite you to review our photos for the best views of the item and to see any of the conditional issues mentioned above.
