1990's Bianchi Reparto Corse Track bicycle 58cm lux complete build

Description: *Buy with confidence: check my flawless seller reviews prior to purchase!* **Note: Pedals and saddle are not included with sale; shown in photo for demonstration purposes only.** -Mechanic-owned early 1990s Bianchi Reparto Corse track bike 58cm -- one of the last years these bikes were still produced in Italy before Bianchi moved production to Taiwan! Hand-made by Bianchi's race division with Columbus steel tubing. Super lightweight and stiff. A few minor cosmetic nicks/scrapes from normal use, including a couple of chips to the paint - see photos for detail. Everything is in excellent working order. Ovalized, oversized down tube for added stiffness. The chainstays have been crimped by Oakland framebuilder Erik Billings to allow for 700c X 30mm tires. I removed the decals, but you can easily find replacements online if you wanted to put new ones on. Personally I think it looks much better/cleaner without them, and makes for a great conversation starter when folks ask what the frame is. -WoundUp Zephyr carbon fork, hand-painted to match the frame by Rick Stefani! (standard track 35mm offset) -Custom Jen Green "Swift" bronze headbadge -Chris King 1" polished threaded headset -Sugino 75 square taper BB (sealed bearings) -Sugino Grand Mighty 167.5mm cranks in rare Champagne color w/ Campagnolo dust caps -Izumi 'Super Toughness' gold/black track chain, NJS certified 1/8" -48t Sugino 'Mighty Competition' chainring -Nitto 'froggy' polished seatpost (NJS stamped) -Nitto Pearl 110mm stem -Soma Highway 1 shallow-drop handlebars (42cm) with RedShift "Cruise Control" grips at the bends and 20mm bar extenders in the drops for more room to move around -Brooks handlebar tape w/ wine cork end 'caps' (double wrapped on top of cork tape for extra comfort and suppleness) -Dia Compe Gran Compe Shot brake lever (gold) -Paul Component 'Funky Monkey' cable hanger (polished silver) with Velo Orange brass barrel adjuster -Paul Component Racer Medium front brake, anodized silver w/ original salmon Kool Stop pads -Wheels: Velocity Quill rims, 32h rear, 28h front. -Rear hub is Shimano Dura Ace high-flange polished, in fixed/fixed flip-flop, widely regarded as the smoothest loose-ball bearing hub ever made and coveted by Keirin racers. Includes 16t EAI 'Superstar' and 17t Shimano Dura Ace 1/8" cogs, with NJS certified lockrings. Laced 3X with silver double-butted spokes and raw brass nipples for some subtle flair. -Front hub is White Industries high-flange track hub with gorgeous traditional 'window' cutouts, polished silver, and their blingy axle nuts made from nickel aluminum bronze with integrated stainless washers. Laced radially with silver double-butted spokes and raw brass nipples for some subtle flair. -Muc-Off Oil Slick upgraded tubeless valve stems -WTB Exposure 30mm tires set up tubeless, less than 150 miles on them -Kinugawa chain tensioners (NJS certified) -Custom lace-up framebag by Cycle Cats, out of Sacramento Other notes on the build: I've owned this bike for a decade. It's always been a bit too small for me, however, and I recently got into 'tracklocross' with fat tires and sadly don't have room for a second fixed gear bike. I built this bike up to be the prettiest bike at the track. I constantly get compliments whenever I ride it. I don't subscribe to the whole "NJS-only" thing, nor do I care for running Campy or Shimano/Sugino components exclusively. Instead I focus on 'what's the best part for the job?' and let that dictate my builds. With this bike, that meant swapping the original steel fork for a much lighter WoundUp fork, renowned by track racers for its pinpoint sharpness and feel. I run a front brake because it is much safer for urban riding, and skidding ruins rear tires. If you want to run this bike legally at the track, just loosen the brake bolt and remove the caliper! It will take you 30 seconds. I run these shallow drop bars for a more comfortable all-day riding position; if you slam the stem, you can still get them very low to the front wheel. And the half framebag allows you to carry tools, snacks and water. You might be wondering: why the mismatched hubs! Like most bike nerds, I love White Industries parts, but I prefer standard threaded hubs for track cogs (WI uses a proprietary cog mount system that forces you to run their cogs only). Many riders also feel that the DA hub is one of the smoothest-rolling ever made, and I can't disagree! I figure since the cogs cover the flange anyway on the rear, most people will never notice. You can show off the cut-outs and bronze axle nuts on the front White Industries hub, where it's easier to see them. Win-win. This is a 58cm frame, with classic equal-length top and seat tubes. It should fit riders in the 5'10" - 6' range, depending on your exact dimensions and riding preferences. (Some road riders size down slightly on their track bike for a shorter wheelbase and to make weighting the front wheel easier with a longer stem.) Stand over height: ~855mm Bottom bracket height: ~285mm This bike is sold complete, as-is. If there's a component you don't want, everything is top-shelf and can easily be resold individually on your own. I can also throw in four (4) King Cage hose clamps that I used to mount bottle cages on if you'd like - just message me upon purchase. Ships professionally packed via FedEx or UPS.
