Description: Measures 8-3/8" X 11-3/32" -- 128 pp plus covers -- b&w & two-toned photos & illustrations -- Volume 100, Number 2 (December 1954), published by McCall Corp. (NY). Group 6-000 Pages 61 thru 68 are loose from the spine -- plus there are multiple short tears along the spine edge, plus moisture stains & damage at the upper & lower page edges throughout the magazine -- otherwise average "well-read" condition for a "pulp" magazine of nearly 70 years, with wear & chipping to edges & corners, plus scratches, folds (including page corner fold-downs), indentations, rub-wear, browning pages, soiling, foxing, etc -- overall condition Fair Plus to Good Minus BLUEBOOK had been amongst the first of the "pulp" magazines to have been published (starting in 1905), and over the years has attracted the talents of such well-known authors as EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS; ZANE GREY; H. RIDER HAGGARD; CLARENCE E. MULFORD; SAX ROHMER; ROBERT HEINLEIN ; MacKINLAY KANTOR; THEODORE PRATT; LUKE SHORT; GEORGE SIMENON -- and the list just goes on. By 1952, however, the writing was on the wall for the "pulps"; and BLUEBOOK began expanding beyond their "pulp" base, attempting to attract audiences that gravitated more towards the "slicks," such as THE SATURDAY EVENING POST, COLLIERS, THE AMERICAN MERCURY and so on; but this lasted only until 1956. By 1960, BLUEBOOK had become exclusively another of the "men's adventure magazines," until its demise in 1975.
