Description: Freshwater American eels 16”-18” long. These guys will max out in the aquarium around 36” long and are predatory. They can be kept with larger, more robust fish. Currently feeding on tilapia and shrimp, they are active and eating well. Can be pellet trained easily. These fish are one of the only known native fish to America that are catadromous. This means that they live out their lives in freshwater and only wander into saltwater to breed, opposite to our beloved Alaska salmon. They can be very long lived. DOA POLICY: In the unfortunate case of a death upon arrival, the animals will be replaced or refunded (SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED) under these conditions; 1) the package is accepted within 1 hour of the first delivery attempt 2) a notification within one hour of the first delivery attempt via email 3) 1 picture of the package BEFORE OPENING and 3 clear pictures of the dead animal in the UNOPENED container in the email (more pictures may be requested with a fin or tail cut off).
