NoyesFort Grant, Illinois ----beginning of letter:---------: Dear People:I want a word to tell my sympathy in the death of General Noyeswhich I noted in Berkeley.I wonder if either of you come to the Coast.I should love to see you on the Ranch someday. Only yesterday, came across a little snapshot of ___(Mrs) Noyes and myself (& myself)at the Baths in Galveston (&) it brought to mind the old times. I'm still working upon my biography of Jackand it keeps me pretty close at home.I usually have a house full of guests, but they have to look out for themselves since I cannot get "help",But they seem to enjoy it.Come to join the merry party of "campers". This letter started out as one of condolence.But the General has reached a wonderful age . ____ one cannot mourn for the aged,so much, when they do go out.
