Description: Highly Collectible Card - Authentic and Original 1949 Bowman #46 RC HOF Robin Roberts Baseball Trading Card. PSA Graded 1.5. Offered in Very Good Condition. The front centering is truly excellent and the back centering is very good. The colors on both the front and back of the card have remained vibrant and clear. The corners are all rounded but in good condition. There is a scratch on the front lower section of the 1949 RC HOF Robin Roberts Bowman card. Sold 'As Is'. Shipped with USPS Ground Advantage Mail. Condition: The 1949 Rookie Robin Roberts Bowman #46 Baseball Trading Card is being offered in very good condition, with excellent (almost perfect) front centering and very good back centering, very good colors on front and back, scratch on front of the card on the lower right shoulder, small crease, some discoloration on the front borders, and the four corners are in good condition. The Nolan Ryan card is one of two key Hall of Famer rookie cards in the set, along with Johnny Bench. That same year, three other versions of the same card were produced - Milton Bradley, O-Pee-Chee and Venezuelan Topps released their own Nolan Ryan rookie cards. All three are tougher to find than the traditional Topps Ryan, but the Topps #177 card is the one that has the most appeal. HOF Robin Roberts: Robin Roberts was one of the greatest pitchers of all time. He was in the major leagues for 19 seasons. Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner described Robin Roberts as "Probably the best fastball I ever saw was Robin Roberts. His ball would rise around six or eight inches, and with plenty on it. And he had great control." Roberts started with the Philadelphia Phillies at the age of 21. From 1950-1955, Roberts was arguably the most dominant pitcher in the league. He recorded six straight 20-win seasons and in 1950 led the "Whiz Kids" to their first World Series appearance since 1915. Robin Roberts was the first jersey number retired by the Phillies. Robin Roberts was a seven time All-Star (starting in all five All-Star Games), tied for the most all-time. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976. CONDITION: B (see guide).
