Plug and play for 99-00 mustangs w/standard audio Note: Does not fit trucks, broncos or mustangs equipped with the factory premium audio package What I have observed over the last few years of repairing hundreds of these radios: These units suffer from capacitor plague. The electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard are prone to failure at this age. There is always atleast 1 but usually around 5 capacitors leaking acid thereby damaging circuit traces and solder pads. This is why these radios are notorious for failure. Many of the original capacitors were only rated for 1000 hours to begin with. For these reasons I replace all 25 of the motherboard’s capacitors with much higher quality capacitors on all these radios I service effectively giving the radios a new lease on life and increased performance.
