Description: Buckingham ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ first day cover with a full set of six Isle of Man stamps with an Isle Of Man postmark. The film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, hit cinemas in November 2005. To coincide with this the Isle of Man released another set of Harry Potter stamps. This cover was exclusive to Buckingham covers and was designed by a The Agency Design Services, TM & copyright Bros, Entertainment inc.Warner and JKR. The cover is postmarked :- First Day of Issue, Douglas, Isle of Man, 21.10.2005. In the centre is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The cover is certified on the reverse and states,:- Richard Griffiths who played Vernon Dursley in the films has signed just 30 Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire covers with full set of IOM stamps pmk 21/10/05. This cover is number 21 of 30. Richard Griffiths, OBE (1947-2013) was an English actor of film, television and stage. He was best known for his roles as Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films (2001-2011) and Great Uncle Matthew Brown ‘GUM‘ in the BBC film ‘Ballet Shoes (2007). He also portrayed Uncle Monty in ‘Withnail and I (1987) and Henry Crabbe in ’Pie in the Sky‘ (1994-1997). Earlier in his career, he had supporting roles in such critically acclaimed films as ‘Chariots of Fire‘ (1981), the French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981), Gandhi (1982), and ’The Naked Gun (1991). In his later career he appeared in ’Sleepy Hollow’ (1999), The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ‘ (2011) and in Martin Scorsese‘s ‘Hugo‘ (2011).
