Description: Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer (make an offer), a rare, vintage 1950s NBC Rolex Super Automatic Deluxe lighter for WNBQ TV / Channel 5 (now WMAQ), and WMAQ Radio, with an era radio image on the reverse. WNBQ NBC Television side says The Leadership In Chicago Television, with the colorful, stylized NBC Peacock! Alternate side says The Leadership In Chicago Radio. The call letters for channel 5 Chicago was WNBQ from 1948 to 1964. Slim profile mid century lighter measures just over 2” long and about 1.75” height. Made in postwar Japan. For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in. Lighter in good, used condition with minor signs of age, use, and storage related wear/pocket wear. Lighter has no fuel or flint, but in theory should work with a new flint and fuel. Both the flint and fuel ports open nicely, but take a slight bit of finessing getting back in properly. This is a design and not an age or condition issue. Otherwise, this piece of Chicago broadcast history displays quite well. Colorful and eye catching!
