Vintage Ann Colby Womens Sheath Dress Jacket Belt 1950’s Cosplay Navy Size 8

Description: Vintage Ann Colby women’s Designer Sheath Dress with bolero style Jacket and Belt Navy blue with white polka dots Darts at chest 10” side zipper for ease of putting on Delicate pleats from waist over hips Attractive boat neckline detailed with 2 navy color bows 1 concealed right hip pocket Belt Jacket is collarless with 3/4 sleeves A solid navy piping trim runs along the waist up through the neckline and another navy bow at the center back hem. This dress belonged to my great aunt. Circa 1950’s is my guess It might be from the 1940’s b/c Ann Colby designed from 1941 until 1980 in Boston. There is no tag identifying the fabric but the designer was known for a linen-look , viscose. The tag reads size 16 but they sized clothing very differently back then. I was given the dress in the early 80’s when my aunt passed and I wore it once in the 90’s when I was a size 8 by today’s standards. There are some white spots on the belt. I believe they might be a fabric flaw and not a stain. There is a 2” area of discoloration near the edge of one sleeve. See last 2 pics. The dressings old and being sold as-is. Please inspect the pics and ask any questions that you might have. This is a lovely piece of fashion history . The dress/ jacket combo are very stylish, fun and classy. Very reminiscent of Jackie O. and the 1950’s. The timeless design of this dress makes it perfect for cocktail parties, casual and business events even today. The color is a true navy blue with white polka dots. Who doesn’t like polka dots?
