Description: Vintage LORD ELGIN 626, 21 Jewels, 4 Adjustments, Model 4518, 14k Solid Yellow Gold, Ca. 1950s, Working. The movement is nice, clean and working. Stamped on the movement is serial # H449369 dating the watch to the 1950 production year. The 14k Solid Yellow Gold case is in excellent condition and measures 36.50mm from lug to lug and 23.75mm not including the crown. Stamped on the inside caseback is: Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Company, 4518, Schwab & Wuispard Inc., 14k Gold, and serial # 371254. The 14k yellow gold case net weight is 9.6 grams-6.1 pennyweights. The silver dial is in good condition with some flea bites. The gold hour markers, hands and all lettering are in very good condition. The domed, curved crystal is in excellent condition. The vintage ELGIN tan pigskin leather band is NOS and period appropriate. The buckle is stamped ELGIN, but not checked for gold content. The watch comes in a vintage lucite LORD ELGIN Box that may or may not be original to the watch. This is a vintage watch without service records. I cannot guarantee the accuracy, longevity or waterproofing and should be serviced by a competent watchmaker.
