Description: Car at Hitlers Retreat Berchtesgaden, Austria This is a nice reproduction of an original WWII photograph showing a car which survived the bombong of Adolf Hitlers Berghof, (residence or retreat) near Berchtesgaden, Austria, after the arrival of the US 3rd Infantry Division on May 4, 1945. The site had been heavily bombed by the British prior to this, and the SS had set the building on fire earlier that day. This is not the infamous "Eagles Nest" which is located much higher up in the mountains above Berchtesgaden, and which is still there. Hitler only visited the "Eagles Nest" one time as far as is known. Hitler visited and entertained at the Berghof regularly, and the site was demolished by the Bavarian government in several stages after the war. Size of photo is about 5" x 5".
